I purchased some used lowering springs for my truck awhile back.
Similar to pictured. Leaves for the back and coils for the front. They are in fine shape but have a little surface rust. I'm wondering if they can be painted. Is there anything special I need to do to keep the paint from flaking off? I would not be opposed to plasti dip.

You should be able to paint them, but have to make sure you do proper surface cleaning and use self etching primer. It adheres better to steel than just regular paint.

Regular Rustoleum Professional from a spray can is cheap and will last from my experience.

So normal stuff then sounds good.

Awesome. That's what I wanted to hear.

Yeah, so long as the paint has a decent surface to cling to then it should be fine and last long enough.

When ever I've painted leaf springs I've taken them apart and done all the surface area and added new rubber pads between them. Sounds like this might be unnecessary if there is just light surface rust though.

Yeah they're more or less like new. They still have the stickers on them that they were shipped with.

dont do plastidip. it's too temporary. will fall off.
